Raffaella Hilty, MA (Phil., Psych.), BA (Hons)

Raffaella Hilty is an Analytical Psychologist, an Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and a Clinical Supervisor. She is a registered professional member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and of the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). She has worked in the NHS for a number of years and she is now in private practice in London.

Raffaella Hilty has extensive experience in providing individuals and couples with an expert and confidential setting from where to explore one’s emotional life and how early attachment and meaningful past relational experiences may have contributed to the way the present is perceived and approached.

Whilst her work takes into account the influence of the past onto the present, it also places as much attention to the future and to the fact that in the present psychological suffering there is the potential for a meaningful new direction. The focus of the work moves between the present and the past, the inner world and the outer reality, the aim being to become freer from the past and lead a life that is more authentic and in line with the inner vision of the person one is meant to become.

Her extensive experience in dream analysis is also an integral part of her in depth-approach to the analytical work.

In addition to her clinical work, Raffaella Hilty has presented clinical papers at public forums and conferences, and has been involved in teaching on the training program of various training organisations.

She has been published in the British Journal of Psychotherapy, in the International Journal of Forensic Psychotherapy and in the Journal of Attachment New Directions in Psychotherapy and Relational Psychoanalysis.

Her book, ‘Primitive Bodily Communications in Psychotherapy. Embodied Expressions of a
Disembodied Psyche’ was published by Karnac Books in 2022.
