Analytical Psychologist & Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (BPC; FCP; IAAP)
Richard Jenkins is a Jungian Analyst (also known as an Analytic Psychologist) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.
He is a registered professional member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), of the Foundation for Counselling and Psychotherapy (FPC), and of the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). Richard has over a decade’s experience of working as a therapist including an NHS Honorary Psychotherapist at the Royal London Hospital. He is a cofounder of Southbank Counselling and works in private practice in London.
Richard works with you to understand the patterns from the past that can cause pain or blockage today. As well as attending to the suffering and dilemmas that you bring to therapy, Richard works at depth with dreams, the symbolic and mythological aspects of psychological life, understanding that alongside the relationship with the analyst, these hold deep power to heal. As well as an interest in spirituality and spiritual practice, he has a long-standing expertise in policy and social action as a former researcher and adviser for government and charities.
Richard teaches a course on Jung at the Bowlby Centre for Attachment Based Psychoanalysis. As a former faculty member of WPF Therapy he taught courses on contemporary approaches to Clinical Practice and Diversity and is committed to promoting, diversity equality and inclusion in his practice and in the profession.
